New York AG who threatened to go after Trump in profane selfie rant at her election party follows through

Hey BEEYATCH! Keep on acting COCKY!! Your day of reckoning is coming!!!

Using the offices of government to target a sitting president continues in earnest from the Democratic Party, with the New York attorney general opening a civil investigation into Trump Organization projects.

Coming from the office of Attorney General Letitia James, the inquiry is reportedly a civil investigation, not a criminal one — nonetheless, it opens the door for additional digging in a country that supposedly investigates crime to find those responsible, not investigate people to find a crime.

(The Democrat-led House is conducting several probes of the president through the various committees the party controls, in addition to a never-ending investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.)

But then, James is just following through on an earlier threat, when she promised of Trump after being elected: “He’s going to know my name personally.”

More from the New York Times:

The New York attorney general’s office late on Monday issued subpoenas to Deutsche Bank and Investors Bank for records relating to the financing of four major Trump Organization projects and a failed effort to buy the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League in 2014, according to a person briefed on the subpoenas.

The inquiry opens a new front in the scrutiny of Deutsche Bank, one of the few lenders willing to do business with Donald J. Trump in recent years. The bank is already the subject of two congressional investigations and was examined last year by New York banking regulators, who took no action.

The newspaper reported that the focus and scope of the latest inquiry “were unclear,” but did note that James was prompted by last month’s congressional testimony from Trump’s former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, who said under oath that Trump had inflated his assets in financial statements.

Never mind that a top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Katie Hill, D-Calif., said on Sunday that the committee chairman, Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., may “end up referring” Cohen, who’s going to prison for 3 years for lying to Congress, to the Justice Department for perjury for… lying to Congress again.

After being elected as attorney general, James was captured on video responded to a question about registering to vote.

“I say one name: Donald Trump,” James said. “That should motivate you. Get off your vote and vote.”

She was then asked if she planned to go after Trump.

“Oh, we’re definitely going to sue. We’re going to be a real pain in the ass,” promised the woman who is now the state’s top law enforcement officer. “He’s going to know my name personally.”

James also threatened Trump at her election night party.

“I will be shining a bright light into every dark corner of his real estate dealings, and every dealing, demanding truthfulness at every turn,” she said, according to the Times.

New York was also one the states to challenge the president’s declaration of a national emergency on the southern border, with James deciding there is no such emergency — never mind that the N.Y. Times just reported the border is at a “breaking point,” with more than 76,000 migrants being detained in February alone, many of them women and children from Central America.

BREAKING: We’ve joined 15 AGs in filing a lawsuit challenging President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency & his attempt to divert funding appropriated by Congress for other purposes.

Declaring a National Emergency when one does not exist is immoral and illegal.
